Felipe Anderson double sinks Clarets in thriller at London Stadium
The Hammers got off to a fine start with the returning Marko Arnautovic firing the hosts ahead after just six minutes. Johann Berg Guomundsson was on hand to level things up just before the break before Anderson sparked into life in the second half, scoring either side of a Chris Wood equaliser, before Javier Hernandez scored his first Premier League goal since April.
There have been concerns over the fitness of talisman Arnautovic in recent weeks, but he began the clash here at London Stadium looking back to his usual self, engaging in a fiery duel with England defender James Tarkowski. T
The former Brentford man set things off with Arnautovic early on with a heavy challenge after just five minutes, before the pair were nose-to-nose following Ben Mee’s dangerous tackle on Pedro Obiang.

The Austrian looked to be carrying a little knock, but was holding nothing back when it came to piling the pressure on and robbing Tarkowski, before firing low past former teammate Joe Hart for his first goal since September. No prizes for guessing the target of his celebrations, with Tarkowski turning a blind eye to the roars from West Ham’s No.7.
After a run of two home defeats to Tottenham, in the Premier League and League Cup, the hosts were finally playing with some confidence and verve in front of their fans, six months after - in the same fixture - they were rioting in the stands.
Arnautovic could have had his second too when, after a well worked spell of possession, Felipe Anderson sent him through one-on-one with Hart once more, the former Manchester City man turning his effort round the post this time.
If Hart kept the lead to just one on that occasion, he would have Ben Mee to thank ten minutes later after a sloppy ball from Ashley Westwood gifted the Hammers a break and, with Anderson’s effort passing the keeper by completely, the centre half flung himself across goal and flicked a header over the bar.
