Mourinho and I are good guys- Pep Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola described old foe Jose Mourinho as a "good guy" ahead of this weekend's Manchester derby.

United boss Mourinho has clashed with Guardiola numerous times over the years, with their previously intense rivalry dating back to when they coached Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

Mourinho was widely assumed to have been annoyed by Barca's decision to appoint Guardiola over himself in 2008 and the pair had a number of fractious encounters during their time together in La Liga.

A Clasico clash provided the nadir when Mourinho poked a finger into the eye of Guardiola's assistant Tito Vilanova during a touchline fracas.

But since they took charge at United and City the relationship between Mourinho and Guardiola appears more cordial, with the Catalan happy to avoid the rows of the past.

"Thank you so much. Thank you," Guardiola said when asked if he was pleased the pre-match focus was not placed on the perceived battle between himself and Mourinho.

"At the end we are both good guys, more than you expect. It's much better, believe me."

Atletico Madrid's Uruguayan defender Diego Godin is set to miss upcoming matches against Brazil, France and Barcelona after suffering a thigh injury in last weekend's league win over Athletic Bilbao. Although the Spanish club refused to put a timeline on a return, AS sports daily reported the 32-year-old could be out for three to four weeks. If confirmed it would rule Godin out of international friendlies away to Brazil on November 16 and France, at the Stade de France, on November 20. Simone's men disappointed as Carillo levels late on

Atletico Madrid dropped points in LaLiga on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Leganes. Guido Carrillo's late equaliser prevented Atletico Madrid from going top of LaLiga as Leganes held their underwhelming visitors to a 1-1 draw on Saturday. Diego Simeone was missing Diego Godin, Koke and Diego Costa due to muscular problems for the short trip to Butarque, and without them their performance was disappointing and Carrillo pegged them back late on. In an unremarkable first period, Leganes looked the slightly more promising and did at least go close on a couple of occasions, though quality was lacking from both sides. Atletico improved slightly after the break and eventually went ahead through Antoine Griezmann's free-kick, but substitute Carrillo secured the strugglers a deserved point eight minutes from time with his third goal of the season. Triple H Needs Surgery Following His Match At Crown Jewel

While we skipped a live thread and results for WWE’s  controversial Crown Jewel event  for our own sanity, we do have one unfortunate thing to report: according to an announcement from WWE.com, Triple H suffered what’s believed to be a torn pectoral muscle during his tag team match with Shawn Michaels against Kane and the Undertaker in the show’s main event, and will require surgery.
